The Trojan War Heroes Will Is Being Controlled By Gods?
It's completely wrong because the Gods are only gives clue to their future or helps them in some way but it only depends on how the Heroes will respond to it. It depends on how they act to it because their Gods holds their future but the Heroes can still change it by their respond to their Gods, but the Heroes believe their Gods that is why almost plan of their Gods succeed. The result of this is that the Gods is almost controlling them the Heroes. But their victory is still their victory because they did all the actions. The Gods are only helping them. The Gods cannot intervene in the war because of the rule they made but the other Gods still help in the war secretly. But still they do not take glory of the Heroes that they made in the war.
In the Book 12 we can see that the warriors of Hector saw an omen that the Zues gave. It is stated that
"For suddenly, just as the men tried to cross,
A fatal bird sign flashed before their eyes,
An eagle clutching a monstrous bloody serpent in both talons,
Still alive, still struggling - it had not lost its fight,
Writhing back to strike it fanged the chest of its captor
Right beside the throat - and agonized by the bites
The eagle flung it away to earth, dashed it down
Amidst the milling fighters, loosed a shriek
And the bird veered off along the gusting wind."
Book 12, Page 172, Lines 278-281
Even though Zues gave this omen Hector still charge at the battle. Because of that at the book 16 where Achilles join the war, Hector and his army almost lost if Zues did not order Appollo to help. The Gods may be controlling the Heroes but it almost help them in war. Even Hector won the war he still have the glory of winning. Zues also have the glory but Hector and his army still have the greater will that makes them reach the glory of winning.

Agamemnon Stubborness
In the books 1-5 King Agamemnon is so stubborn that he sacrifice his people because of a girl.
It all started when Briseus a glad priest of Apollo a "Sun God" wants to ransom his daughter Briseis to King Agamemnon. A good king would just say "yes I accept" or just simply "No",but this king is not good a good king. His "no" was a mock and a being kicked out the palace. Briseus was so angry that he asked for help to his god Apollo. The god answered his wish by raining of arrows on the kingdom of the King Agamemnon. Because of what happen many people died and it was continued every single day. To stop this happening King Agamemnon should give Briseis to his father. But King Agamemnon is so stubborn that he made a condition. He will give up Briseis but he have to get Achilles girl "Chryseis". Achilles was so angry that he wants to attack him. Achilles was so angry he did not know what to do. His mother Thetis sea nymph advice to let it go because she saw a vision that something bad will happen if he will attack. So Achilles had no choice so he gave Chryseis to the king.
Many people are just like Agamemnon they will do anything to get what they want. It is ok to to do this but just make sure no one would get hurt. But people like Agamemnon dont care about people around them. They only care what they want.
Just like the Ampatuans they killed the civilians who are on the opposite party. They did this because they want to won the elections that are happening in that day. Many died because of their stubborbness to get the positions their aiming.
